This game almost never went ahead as first of all only 10 players turned up and then Jayson realised that Chris had forgotten to pack the shirts in the kit bag! So poor old Jayson had to jump in Edward's car and race back home to get them, Kerry had to ask the ref for an extra 30 minutes which luckily he and the home team allowed.

We decided to warm up whilst Jayson made the dash so we went out in the shorts and socks with a t-shirt on and kicked the ball about. Thankfully Jayson did get back in time and by that time an 11th player had turned up so now we had a full squad but we had to play Jayson (striker), Kamal (midfielder) and some Somali guy (I have no idea how to spell his name) (midfielder) in defence with me.

By half time a 12th man had turned up so we had a sub.

I think the defence played the best I have seen us play in a very long time and this was a hastily put together defence with only one proper defender in it. I did not play as attacking as I did the day before due to having the other three playing out of position. Not that they needed me that much, they pretty much dealt with everything that came their way.

We had three new players in the team today Mo and two called Joe. Mo and one of the Joes got the goals for us and to cap it all Chris actually saved a penalty!

We really played well, and really battled for every ball right to the end. We will not go and wind up the other lads who play in the Saturday league and have not won a game yet!

Zion Rangers 1 Acton Town 0

On Saturday I had to travel the furthest I have ever had to travel to play for Acton Town (I was going to replace 'Acton Town' with the word 'football' but I just remembered that I once went all the way to Germany to play in a tournament at the age of 11) as we ventured to Feltham to take on Zion Rangers in a Division 3 cup game.

I was actually expecting to start the game on the bench, as Ashley had turned up, but Jayson told me I was starting by shouting my name and as I turned I was hit in the face with the number 2 shirt.

We lost the game 1-0 with the winner coming in the 86th minute, what was really heartbreaking was that the ball actually went out of play before the player crossed it for the goal. The linesman was one of our subbed players and he had the hump at being taken off, and forced to do the line, so did not raise the flag as he was not looking!

We really tried and I thought that we played bloody well, after the goal everyone just went for it and the home team were penned in their own penalty area for the last 4 minutes as we just bombarded their goal.

The big shock of the day was seeing me running up and down the left wing and actually having a shot at goal nicely saved. It made me chuckle when players were openly double-looking at me and saying "What the fuck is Dean doing up here?" This is something I want to do more often to help keep me in the team.

I just need to sort out my pace and my fitness.

In the changing room Jayson just said that he could not find the words as we had battled our fucking hearts out and were very unlucky to be on the wrong end of a result.

I fell asleep on the train home (as I normally do) and when I went to get up out of my seat to get off at Bethnal Green pain shot up both my calf’s because of all the extra running that I did in the game, I scared the woman sitting opposite me as I yelled out in pain!

When I got home I just had a bath and lay on the sofa and at about 11pm I am off to bed, which is odd for me as I normally go out on the piss and stumble in about 3am. Still I'll be nice and refreshed for tomorrow's game; at least this one is not on the other side of the world! (Slight exaggeration!)

Long Journey

Training on Thursdays is certainly starting to become enjoyable since we arranged for a proper qualified football coach to come in and take the weekly sessions. No disrespect to Jayson but this guy really does seem to know how to get the best out of the players in training.

There were quite a few players at training this week, I'm guessing a few players have realised that if they fail to come to training then they will not get to play at the weekend as we are bringing in a nice string of new players to take their places.

The journey is slowly starting to get to me lately. Not only do I have to battle though rush hour traffic, and squeeze myself into overpacked trains, but I also am finding myself not getting home until gone midnight.

I'm starting to get a little bit more adventurous in training now with little flicks, touches and backheels, I actually scored a goal with a lovely backheel. This is good as I'm normally such a conservative player, a month ago I would not even dream of doing a cheeky flick or backheel.

I still need to work on my fitness though, I have cut out the booze I have actually gone about 3 weeks now without having so much as an ounce of alcohol, in fact the only alcohol that has passed my lips in the last 6 weeks has been the odd pint when Acton Town play at home on a Saturday.

Well MMA is calling on TWCFight! so I'll bid you all (yes, both of you) goodnight.

My dad is now back home after almost 3 months in hospital being waited on hand and foot by their already overworked staff. Within the first hour of him being back he called me to him about 20 times!

Here are just some of his requests:

• Bring him cups of water.
• Make him coffee and toast at 1:30am! (I was actually asleep!)
• Turn his radio on.
• Change the radio station.
• Turn his radio off.
• Check his clock is showing the correct time.
• Empty his hospital bag.
• Get his medication from his drawer.
• Turn his little light on.
• Turn his little light off.

Business as normal then.

Acton Town 2 Stonewall Reserves 3

Today we played Stonewall Reserves in the WEFA Sunday PM Premier Cup at our old ground Gurnell Grove, quite why we had to play at Gurnell Grove was never fully explained to us y anyone, I can only assume that the party that went on the night before was either still going on or the mess that they left was so much that it spilled onto the pitches.

Stonewall are actually a predominantly gay team, they actually took part in the recent gay world cup and walked away with the championship! There was to be no remarks though, friendly or otherwise, that was an order from our club management.

I played at left back but I was urged by Edward (well, yelled at really) to push up a bit and play a bit more of an attacking game. I did this by actively looking and calling for the ball a hell of a lot more than I normally would do, and I played a lot more attacking passes than I have done in every other game combined!

We lost the game 3-2 thanks to our goalkeeper being unable to catch a fucking ball!

I mean, how fucking difficult can it be to hold onto a gentle ball coming at you from 25 yards? No, he decides to push it into the path of their star striker who is not going to fucking miss from 3 yards out!

And we are not allowed to say anything because he pulled off a couple of decent saves earlier in the game. Well I'm sorry but those two goals (the other goal saw him being lobbed on his fucking line, he is about 6ft 5!) cost us the game and he should take the blame for it.

I was involve in our last kick of the game where we all pushed up and Jayson laid the ball to me and I heard Edward yelling and just did a cheeky little backheel that landed right in his path and he smacked it about 10 yards wide of the goal.

Well I have to take something from this game and it will be the fact that I played a far more attacking game then I normally do and I actually enjoyed it. I am now looking forward to training and our weekend games so I can do it again!

Acton Town 2 The Wanderers 4

The game today against The Wanderers was bad for me as I ended up talking myself into my second booking of the season and got into a frame of mind where I even tried to get myself sent off, which is obviously a stupid thing to even consider doing.

The ref was an absolute disgrace though, giving countless freekicks against me for standing my ground when the attacker kept backing into me, apparently it is OK for a player to back into you but it is an offense to stand your ground.

Their number 5 was even laughing and saying to me "I can't believe I'm getting away with this shit" which just goes to show you just how incompetent the referee was.

At one point I actually lost my temper when their number 5 was holding my shirt and yet the ref blew for a freekick against me. Edward had to keep telling me to shut up as I gave the ref a big piece of my mind on how he was officiating the game.

I was eventually booked after I went straight through their number 5 and yelled at the ref "Now THAT is a fucking foul!"

We lost the game 4-2

I could not even wash the game away with a pint afterwards as the club was holding some kind of party and had closed both parts of the bar, one part was meant to be open on home games for us to have a drink after the game.

I just went home and spent the evening on the computer, I had to use my old computer as my laptop died on me again the night before, suffering from the same problem as it had before when my brother claimed he had sorted it.

I trawled Ebay looking for an XP operating system, it took me quite a while but I finally found one for about £45 that ended about an hour after I bidded for it. I promptly paid for it via PayPal so hopefully the seller will get that out to me sharpish.

I missed the England game today, I thought that since the BBC were showing the game live then they would also have the highlights but since all this penny-pinching has started at the BBC they seemed to have stopped showing the highlights. Why don't they stop showing shit like Strictly Come Dancing!? Or paying presenters £18m contracts!?

Matalan Are Racist!

Yesterday I went to Matalan to get some new t-shirts. I know that Matalan have a reputation of attracting a certain type of shopper but I do like their range of funny t-shirts and they are very reasonably priced so that is me sold.

There are 2 floors in the store in Dalston, the men's stuff is on the top floor. I bought 3 new t-shirts and wondered over to the paying area on the top floor where there as one black woman behind the counter serving a line of black & ethnic women and men.

She looked up at me an told me quite bluntly to go and pay downstairs, as I was on the escalator I saw two black women and 1 ethnic woman join the queue and a white woman being told to go downstairs to pay for her item.

I wonder what would possibly happen if this as reversed?

I have finally done it! After years of having to put up with their crappy programs and random freezing and crashing I have finally ditched Internet Explorer and Outlook Express and moved over the excellent Firefox.

I did try and install their Thunderbird email client but I abandoned it as you can not use it to get your Hotmail emails unless you spend a good amount of time installing add-ons and tinkering around. And since I have had the same email address for over 6 years I resorted back to Outlook Express.

Today I set up a "Memorial Fund Page" in memory of my dog to try and raise some much needed money for a charity called Dogs Trust. They do a fantastic job taking in stray and unwanted dogs and giving them a safe and loving place to live out their remaining years.

Their motto is "We never put a healthy dog down". So if you have a few quid to spare then they would very much appreciate it. It is very safe and the money goes straight to the charity.

Acton's Pre-Season Starts

Yesterday Acton Town had their first pre-season match against one of our many rivals, South Acton. I played about 70 minutes before I was subbed in order to give Clarkey a run out. I sat on the touchline and watched for about ten minutes before I got pissed off with the poor display and went home, we were losing 2-1 at this point.

Weight Training

Two weeks ago I started doing my old weight training workout. Sadly my right hand has still not healed from the time I fell on it playing football over three or four months ago, a fact that I found out when I tried to lift my old weight of 140lbs and almost fainted from the pain shooting up my right arm.

It turns out I have been passing the ball with the wrong part of my foot, apparently you are meant to pass with the laces part of the boot and not with the side foot.

I went to my local Jobcentre today, I have not stepped foot in that place in about 5 or 6 years, to ask them to take me off ICA and put me back on JSA so I could start the arduous task of trying to find employment with hardly any experience.
